Laurelbank School System

The Annual Prize Distribution Functions of the Laurelbank School System for Secondary Boys and Girls Branches Shalimar, Daroghawala and Alharmra Town Campuses were held on 30th and 31st August 2024 at the Alhamra Arts Council Hall II. Prof. Dr. Shoaib Khalid Dean Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Former Chairman of the Computer Science Department. U.E.T, Lahore was the chief guest at the Boys Branches Function on Friday 30th August. Ms. Farkhanda Manzoor Dean of Applied Sciences at Minhaj University and Former Vice Chancellor of Lahore College for Women University was the Chief Guest at Girls Branches Function on Saturday 31st August 2024. The programme started with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran followed by translation. After the annual school report the programme proceeded with the prize distribution. The position holders of the academic session 2023-24 received shields and certificates. The high achievers of Matric and O-Levels received Gold and Silver Medals along with cash prizes. This year Dr. Hamayun Mian Award carrying a gold medal and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- was received by Hafsa Qamar for an excellent Matric result scoring 1075/1100 marks and for demonstrating an all-round performance in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities, specifically for her track record as a chess player. After the prize distribution, the audience enjoyed a lively variety programme. Some students of Alhamra Town Campus staged wonderful impersonations to pay tribute to our legendary singers like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Noor Jahan, Abida Parveen, Reshman, Nazia Hassan, Mehdi Hassan and Saein Zahoor. The School Choir from Daroghawala Campus presented the melodious song ‘I have a Dream’. Students of Shalimar Campus staged a skit followed by a musical performance. The skit ‘Language Laughs’ adapted from the British comedy series ‘Mind Your Language’ was a classic highlight of the variety programme while the cultural performance on folk songs, sung by our talented singers Muhammad Aun Tariq and Hoorain Fatima, captivated the audience.
