Developed the highly efficient method of storing shapes of Urdu Nastalique script through mathematical equations instead of storing the entire word images which requires large disk capacity. In the Nastalique script, the shape of a letter does not remain constant but is context dependent. A rule based scheme has been devised for determining each shape within its special context. It has thus become possible to display/edit the Urdu Nastalique script on computer screens as a word is not treated as a single photographic image but as a combination of separately identifiable letters. Developed a unique bi-directional multilingual engine covering Roman, Naskh & Nastalique scripts.
