A Report on Inaugural LPS Model United Nations (MUN) Conference 2013

The first ever LPS MUN was organized in Shalimar Campus I by the students of O-Levels. Sarah Faraz (XCA), Aqsa Nadeem (IXCA), Samana Adnan (VIIICA), Minahil Tallat Mir (VIIICA), Smam Abdullah Mir (VIIICA) and Talha Shahzad (VIIICA) in coordination with Ayyoun-e-Ali (XMBB) and Daniyal Riaz (IXC) organized the event. It was held on 12th October 2013 in SRC I, involving teams of Boys’ Br., Girls’ Br., and O-Levels section. UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY was the chosen committee. There were two agendas before it; 1.   Human Rights Violation in Third World Countries. 2.   Military Intervention in developing countries. First agenda was selected by the delegates to be discussed. It was discussed in two committee sessions of two hours each. In these sessions all the delegates were given chance to speak on the topic. After a lengthy discussion a resolution was passed. Zainab Akram (XMGB), the delegate of Russian Federation was declared best delegate whereas Zainab Ashraf (XCA), the delegate of Uzbekistan was declared the winner of outstanding Diplomacy Award. All the participants took part with zeal to make the inaugural LPS MUN successful.
